World’s largest liquid hydrogen production plant launched

   

North Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – Air Liquide has officially opened its largest liquid hydrogen production and logistics infrastructure facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada; the facility and its associated logistics infrastructure are said to represent an investment of $250 million, creating jobs for 700 contractors and setting a world record for the largest liquid hydrogen production plant in the world. The North Las Vegas plant will produce 30 tons of liquid hydrogen per day.

The North Las Vegas plant will produce 30 tons of liquid hydrogen per day for use by a variety of customers, particularly those in the growing clean transportation market on the West Coast, especially in California.

The facility will be powered by fully renewable electricity. The facility can also use renewable natural gas to meet the California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) when supplying the California travel market. In this context, the facility could provide enough renewable hydrogen for more than 40,000 fuel cell vehicles in California.
