On May 14, 2025, the Hydrogen Economy Forum (H2EF) 2025, supported by APGH, was officially opened at Hilton Kuching by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. Delivering a powerful keynote address titled “Charting a New Energy Future: Sarawak’s Hydrogen Economy in Action,” the Premier highlighted hydrogen’s critical role in Sarawak’s clean energy vision.
In his speech, he introduced the Sarawak Hydrogen Economy Roadmap (SHER), a strategic blueprint to position Sarawak as a regional leader in hydrogen development. The roadmap leverages the state’s abundant renewable energy, natural gas resources, and carbon capture technologies to scale up low-carbon hydrogen production, aligning with global sustainability goals.
The Premier also announced that the Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition (APGH) 2026 will be held from June 9 to 11 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK). Building on the momentum of the inaugural event, APGH 2026 aims to foster global collaboration, drive innovation, and attract investment in the hydrogen economy, solidifying Sarawak’s role as a pioneer in clean energy.
