On December 18th, China’s first inland 64 TEU hydrogen fuel cell powered container ship “Oriental Hydrogen Port”, equipped with Guohong hydrogen fuel cell system, was successfully launched. This is the first high-power heavy-duty project built by Guohong hydrogen in the field of ships, marking a solid step forward in the innovative application of hydrogen in the field of transportation.
The river hydrogen fuel cell container ship, length 64.9 meters, width 12.6 meters, displacement of about 2,000 tons, 64 TEU of cargo, using two sets of Guohong Hydrogen’s latest self-developed Hong Han C240 hydrogen fuel cell system as the only power source, completely green, zero emissions and zero pollution, the range of about 380 kilometers. Compared with the traditional fuel-powered ship, the ship can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 700 tons per year.
As the first inland hydrogen container ship in China, “Oriental Hydrogen Port” is planned to be used in the inland transportation route from Zhapu Port to Xiasha Port next year to carry out operation demonstration and create the first green hydrogen inland container transportation line in China. Its successful launching will lead the development of key marine equipment standards for hydrogen-powered ships, promote the exploration of commercial operation modes for hydrogen ships in river container transportation scenarios, and boost the scale of development.
