India plans to achieve 5 million tons of green hydrogen production capacity by 2030

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen per year by 2030, as part of his broader plan to achieve 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030.

Biofuels have also reached 500 million tons of sustainable feedstocks, including those for ethanol production, which have helped achieve a 19 percent blend and are on track to reach 20 percent by October. Biofuels will also be part of a strategy to help Indian Railways achieve net-zero emissions by 2030.
